I remember seeing this commercial air ONCE then they banned it…..i thought it was really good rolling stones and a corvette bombing around a city….thats the shit lol. damn liberals.

Just to clarify things, I do not watch Spongebob, but I heard about this somewhere. One kid who did actually jump off a cruise ship trying to look for Spongebob, killing himself in the process. It’s the only known event of it since the show’s been running. Several organizations did try to get the show banned because of this, and new episodes were halted for a while until Nickelodeon settled all of these claims.

Why was this ad banned?

I find it unlikely that it was banned but they probably figured the message would not come across clear enough for some viewers and perceived to be as promoting children to drive. Frankly, I thought it was a cute advertisement and thought that it would be something along the lines where a corvette brings out the kid in us.

This was banned because some stupid advocacy group determined it will make a 10 year old kid steal his dad’s Vette and try to make it fly.

I read about it. Made me sick. This was how my dreams went when I was 4 years old, just replace the C6 with a C4. My guess is that the lady who heads said advocacy group also wants to ban alcohol, cigarettes, and blowjobs.
