The AMG was a PROTOTYPE. If you consider how much more aerodynamic the ‘Vette is at top speed than the Porsche is you’ll realize that the GT2 RULES! Remember, its a 3.6 litre engine vs 7 liters for the ‘Vette

twin turbo 3.6 liter vs. a NA 7 liter, that bullshit argument is pointless, just another excuse.

U have to keep in mind that the Porsche is twin turbocharged. And turbocharging artificially increases the capacity of a engine from the extra air it draws in.
In technical terms the engine capacity’s of both car’s are similar! And stock ZR1’s has been clocked at higher speeds than what’s on this video.

And you have to remember that the ZR1 is supercharged. Just a different method of accomplishing the same thing that turbocharging does. You can’t dicount the ZR1’s aerodynamic advantage.

You must not know how much more efficient turbo’s are at high rpm than superchargers. Superchargers draw more hp than they give at redline. But all in all the ZR1 is faster, faster top speed, faster to its top speed, and faster around a track. I’d rather have a GT2 because I think they look better for driving around town, but the ZR1 outperforms it everywhere but 0-60

Smart guy? Aren’t you the one that implied that the ZR1 was normally apsirated? Try understanding the english language. Qoute just one “bash” I made against the Vette. Rather I praised the Porsche. I like Vettes, I’ve owned two 427’s and would have no problem owning another one. I’ve also owned 3 Porsches, one of them a Turbo and can honestly say that they are a much better car than the Vette (quality wise)

My error on the size of the Vette’s motor, its 6.3 litres or 384cu. in. vs the Porsches 3.6 or 219 cu. in. Yeah turbo’s are usually more efficient at high rpm but when was the last time you saw a Top Fuel or Alcohol Rail run a Turbo instead of a supercharger? Its all abou total boost.

They don’t run turbo’s one because to get that boost it would take too long to 2 step that up on the line, two its against the rules in everyway lol.

Haven’t read the NHRA rule book lately but the boost issue is why I included Alcolhol cars because they leave the line at a higher RPM than a fuel car and would be at full boost leaving the line.

Of all the cars I’ve owned, my 3 favorites were my ‘67 427/435 ‘Vette my Boss 429 ‘Stang and my 930. The Vette was setup by Bobby Lagana Sr. and would chirp the tires power shifting to 4th @ 100mph!
